God provides

God provides.

We all know that in our brains but sometimes it is hard to believe it in our hearts and follow it with our actions. This July, God has proven himself yet again to be our provider. We spent the first part of July in and around Dallas. We had a lot of plans to meet with people and tell them about TWR. A good half of them fell apart when we arrived in Dallas. We were devastated. Our entire trip seemed to be going down the tubes. We were talking to one of our amazing supporters and telling her about our predicament. She said, “I don’t know a lot of people here but I will call them for you and ask if they want to meet you and hear about TWR.” Through her, we met three new couples/families! The next best part: We got to have all of our “meetings” in a swimming pool. Thank you God for going above and beyond to help us trust you more.

Then, in Nebraska, we spoke at Ryan’s parents’ church. We planned an open house for the following Thursday. An hour before everything was to start; there was a severe thunderstorm warning. All of a sudden it started pouring down rain the like no one has ever seen in Colorado, lightning flashed all over the sky, thunder clapped soon after, and the wind blew. All the while I was sitting on the front porch. I heard my mother in law say, “well this is going to put a damper on things.” I thought that this trip would end up just like Texas with our plans falling through. I sat with God for a while and He gave me peace about the entire situation. That evening many of the people of Wayne braved the storm to meet us. Despite our fears, that night ended up being a fantastic opportunity to get to know some new people.

We had a wonderful time while we were in Dallas and Wayne. God provided for us in ways we didn’t expect. This last month was a good reminder that even when things are not going our way, God is still looking out for us and working in people’s lives.
